Boat Marco Island

There is no other place in the world like the Florida Everglades.  This almost primitive natural habitat is home to one of the largest mangrove swamps anywhere across the globe, the Florida Everglades are a sight to behold.  When you boat Marco Island waterways, you have access to this incredible coastal wilderness.

Marco Island is situated alongside almost 100 miles of undeveloped estuaries, bays and islands.  These relatively pollution free natural areas are ideal homes for many of Florida’s game fish. Naples south along the coast provides angling access to snook, trout, redfish, Spanish Mackeral, ladyfish, and amberjacks.  For those with bigger boats and lots of sport fishing experience, tarpon and shark are also prevalent.

If you boat Marco Island and further south into the 10,000 Islands, you’ll find many small islands that are suitable for overnight camping.  Because of the shallow waters and grassy areas, it’s important to be careful when trying to navigate the area by powerboat.  There are plenty of charters and tours available to explore this wilderness area, too.  The southernmost tip of this area is also a popular snorkeling and water sport spot.

Stay tuned as we will soon be posting about fishing in the Marco Island area.

Happy Boating!
